
Here are a number of non-drug methods of improving depression. Do not embark on this programme without the guidance of a nutritionist skilled and experienced in this area, as you will be taking mega doses of certain vitamins and amino acids, which could have side effects if not monitored closely.
- Consume a large, varied wholefood diet, rich in fruits and vegetables, and low in saturated fats. Take your fats from mono and polyunsaturated fats (avoid cooking with the latter). Don’t eat too much or little fat.

You’re in the OFFICE, you’re in a MEETING, you’re in your CAR, you’re PICKING up the kids from school, you’re SHOPPING, you’re on the BUS, and NATURE CALLS You want to answer, you’re desperate!, but you have to wait until you get home, or find a toilet somewhere. A lot of people find it difficult to use other people’s toilets or public toilets. So the call of nature is usually held. When you eventually go the stools are dry, hard and difficult to pass. This can also be painful. One of the most common reasons your bowel goes on strike is because of lack of fibre, oil and water. “Does that ring a bell?” If you drive a car it should! The bowel needs these elements to drive you to the toilet – get it? In order to produce soft, smooth, painless stool oil, fibre and water all need to be in balance.
